Youth Academic Enrichment Programs
Our Youth Academic Enrichment Programs provide kids in our community with educational support which empowers them to achieve academic success.
After School Program
Belong! partners with Cunningham Park Elementary School to offer After School support to K-6th grade students. Volunteers work weekly with the same small groups of children to provide homework help and extra learning in mathematics and reading.
With the close of schools in March, Belong! moved quickly to reinvent the After School Program. Using Zoom, kids and volunteers meet online twice weekly for small group tutoring and large group math, reading and science activities.
Summer Academic Enrichment Camp
Belong! offers math, science and reading classes and enrichment activities during a three-week summer camp where students can thrive, practice healthy behaviors, and improve their educational outcomes. All kids enrolled in the summer camp receive a daily free breakfast and lunch provided by Belong! in partnership with the Fairfax County Summer Meals for Kids program.
Belong! launched its Summer Academic Zoom Camp at the beginning of July with 38 students meeting online twice a week with dedicated volunteers who teach math and reading. Each week, kids get a bag of activities, including games to do on their own, a STEM and an art activity to do during camp.
